Lately there has been a lot of buzz in the Internet Marketing Network Marketing arena regarding Alpha Networkers, defining it as bad business to care about the sheep (or “Betas”) of our world who need the protection and a guiding hand of a shepherd.

The story goes that you are bound to make a lot more money in Network Marketing if you only spend your time with other Alphas. Alphas are strong willed and “balanced” people who will not only achieve everything they desire, but “ethically” influence everyone they come into contact with.

The director of this online classroom goes so far as to say that spending ANY time with the sheep is horrible business and detrimental to your success, and that betas are only sniveling wimps who will never get anything done, more or less. Use them as customers, make money from them, but don’t even talk to them they are time wasters and nothing but the gum stuck in your hair.

Does that rub anyone else the wrong way?

I must admit that I’ve made some of the mistakes that he says beta’s make… I’ve always had a pretty weak outer “game,” never very good at influencing Alpha people, apparently, at least in the network marketing arena. Maybe this was because I was so open about my faith in Christ… I think the Christian God seems to frighten a lot of rich and powerful people (or people who aim to be rich and powerful…).

Speaking of Christ… He spent his entire ministry on earth preaching on behalf of and ministering to the “sheep,” the ones who needed Him.

Personally, I feel that if Christ loved the sheep, then I should too. He also said not to worry about money, what we will wear, or what we will eat… just to give our lives to God and trust that we will be taken care of. (Matthew 6:33)

He said to the rich young man in Matthew 19:21-26, that if he wants to be perfect, he should go and sell everything he has, give the money to those who are poor, then he will have treasure in heaven…. to give up all material and follow Christ. This is what must be done in order to inherit eternal life.

God sent Jesus as a man while He remained fully God. He suffered great humiliation, hatred and severe abuse ending in death on the cross. Yet during it all, He continued to love all people everywhere and offer salvation.

I think we should respect Christ very much for not putting money and power ahead of those who are the most in need.

Amen.

The purpose of this post makes me a little sad, but it’s gotta be said

It’s great to see that this site is getting a lot of traffic. Thanks so much to the people who are recommending this to their friends. The thing is though, at this date, well… it’s been nearly half a year since I raised this site, and not a single additional post has been added to my “Give Someone Credit” page, only my original post about my mom!

We should be encouraging each other! That is the whole purpose of this site!

I want the people who come here to not only be encouraged by my writings, but by each other too! Now surely you know someone you are thankful for. Give them credit, and show them your post… please, show honor to them.

This is about making the world a better place… an effort to uplift some poor in spirits…

Think hard, and make that post. The person you love deserves recognition.

And for you who can’t think of someone, let me give you a virtual hug. This world can seem like a dark place, but everyone, even you, deserves love and life abundant. I find the love I need from a God who considered us worthy enough to send his first born Son for us, to live and die, so that we might know him intimately. Take encouragement in that.

On the right-hand side page of this site, I have placed a link to a new site that I have created, that actually gives credit to my holy Creator. I didn’t want to dedicate THIS site to him, although he certainly DOES deserve credit. Thank you Lord for my life which is an adventure in this amazing world. Thank you.

Who loves you? Who makes your life better? Go to the page in the link above, “Who Deserves Credit,” and tell us about it.

Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this world a better place.

God Bless You,

Elaine

I mean it, I know from experience.

People don’t choose to be homeless. Loss of income sources, loss of supportive family members, painful addictions, acts of God, kicked out by landlord… whatever the reason, I can’t picture anyone making the choice, “Hmm, I’d rather sleep in an alley than a warm bed…” it just doesn’t make sense. I would have to concur that people in this situation are only there due to painful and extenuating circumstances.

I think it is very important, especially those who are financially blessed, to recognize the poor traveller. Though he or she may or may not have made poor choices to get there, everyone makes mistakes. Really, it happens.

The Spirit calls upon us, despise it or not, our heart calls upon us to help those in front of us who direly need our help. What stops us? The worry that they might spend our alms on a drink instead of food or shelter? Maybe, maybe not, even so, that emotional crutch they have may be all they have… if that worries you, why not buy them a hot coffee or take them inside for a meal instead?

I discovered a real need in this small city that I reside in. There is no homeless shelter here. When I became broke and homeless a couple of winters ago, due to circumstances I am still embarrased to discuss, there were no affordable hotel rooms or housing available to move into, I was told to leave town and stay at a mission in the big city. Welfare would provide me no more than a bus ticket, take my belongings with me (to a neighborhood I’m afraid to walk through even the daytime), and sleep on a mat in a common room where other homeless addicts and greedy strangers could go through and acquire my belongings while I slept.

It’s hard. Do you know what it’s like to have no place warm to lay your head, to be kicked out of coffeeshops because, “we don’t want your kind here?” and be forced to tirelessly walk the streets in the wind, rain and sleet of March? Some are forced to seek a small amount of warmth and rest in, say, a laundry room of an apartment building, only to be kicked awake by the police and angry building owners… told, “You have to get out… Where? Sorry, anywhere but here, too bad so sad! Bye!”

Wise Proverbs to carefully consider:

“The poor are despised even by their neighbors, while the rich have many “friends.”” -Proverbs 14:20

“The poor plead for mercy; the rich answer with insults.” -Proverbs 18:23

“The rich and poor have this in common: The Lord made them both.” -Proverbs 22:2

“Better one handful with tranquillity than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” -Ecclesiastes 4:6

I pray that you… YOU, READER… I pray you go and seek out your local homeless shelter. I pray you donate as generous a gift of money or time you can afford, to help them pay their bills and staff.

Your local missions are on the front lines of helping people… feeding, clothing, sheltering… the neediest of people. Don’t allow yourself to get comfortable enough in your homes that you neglect your dear living neighbors who cannot afford to cover all their own needs, and have possible have no where to warm up their aching bones or tired muscles.

I like this saying… though it’s true you can’t help everyone who needs help, just help the one in front of you.

Please support your local missions anyway you can. They supply for the needs of physical rest, warmth and emotional healing, reaching out to those who need it the most. If your community doesn’t have one, why not start one?

At least think about it.

In the name of neighborly love, warmth, and recovery,

WOOHOO!! Finally I have confirmation from Vocational Rehabilitation Services that my home web-design education and expenses will be covered.

Thank you to everyone who helped!

These people involved really deserve a warm thank-you from me… it’s comforting to know that there are public servants out there who are cognisant and willing to aid individuals with different types of disabilities (such as myself) to train and prepare for self-employment… because of government programs and grant money, people like me can overcome very real barriers to conventional employment. These people work a higher calling, and I am very grateful for them.

I highly look forward to learning more about coding web-sites, this has been an personal interest of mine for 15 years already… only I persued other avenues of training and trades following my high-school graduation. Later facing physical health and family issues that created barriers to employment and further training, I wished then that I had pursued my original interest in computers, and learned how to code and design internet sites fresh out of high school. If only… coulda, woulda, shoulda… sigh. Oh well, life throws curve-balls sometimes I guess.

No matter!! Studying God’s word has taught me the value of forgiving oneself for past mistakes, carrying on and looking to the present and future for our livelihoods… what is the use of sitting here and getting sad about how things should have been… there is no use for that except to learn a powerful lesson and move on!

Ha, I just thought of a benefit of me being an affiliate for an excellent webhost like the one I affiliate for… if I’m going to professionally be a web-master, wouldn’t it be great to get paid commissions for Domains, Web-Hosting, Professional Web-Design, One-Click Applications (like Wordpress), Virtual Private Servers, and SEO? As a web-master, I’m so pleased I’m paid to sell Netfirms services instead of something hard to sell online, such as expensive vitamins or overpriced fruit juices.

Hope everything works out great! Can’t wait to start my course!

Thanks for reading,

The first step in the “Twelve Steps” of Alcoholics Anonymous, is this:

“We admitted we were powerless over (our addiction), that our lives had become unmanageable.” -A.A.

Something goes wrong in everybody’s life, without fail. If you feel you are not affected by the battle of an addiction, I say, look closer at your life. A person who uses drugs or alcohol just to “socialize,” but eventually continues using just to begin feeling normal, has crossed the invisible line into addiction. Not only does this affects the user, but those closest and dearest to them!

It often takes a horrible crisis for us to even realize our need for help. If we continue to let ourselves think we can “handle” it, (the alcohol, drugs, or loved one’s addictions) we find ourselves helplessly trapped on a roller coaster of denial.

Step Two: “Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.” -A.A.

By believing we are “in charge” of our lives, we only set ourselves up for painful shock when disaster hits. You may choose your path, but where that path takes you, is beyond your control.

Admitting we are powerless is, believe it or not, the first step to being truly satisfied with our lives. People who put their faith in their jobs, their abilities, their health, their money, or their family’s jobs, money, or abilities, may be totally devastated when these things are removed from them.

But, if you already know that these things are just fluid and come and go, and that God provides satisfaction to those who submit their deepest trusts into His capable hands, then, wouldn’t it be wiser to lose our pride and be totally humble?? Why would someone who has lots of money feel they are better or higher or bigger than one without money, when both the rich and the poor were made by the same Creator?? The rich man may take comfort and status in his riches, but those same riches may be taken away from him.

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” -Proverbs 11:2

We may become rich and not take pride in our wealth, but in giving to the poor, as the Lord teaches, we learn that the Father greatly rewards those who in true humility obey His teachings. If we are poor in spirit and look to Him, we will find true happiness in the comfort in His healing hands.

“We felt we were doomed to die and saw how POWERLESS we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we could put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save us.” -2Corinthians 1:9

Perhaps we may take credit to ourselves, only for admitting that credit belongs to Him.
